Lazy Saturday Morning... Or was It?

In general, most society views laziness as something to be frowned upon.

A few hours, perhaps more, that are filled with nothing, but idle hands and an open mind.

And yet, as a writer, I find that these times can bring upon a well of creative inspiration if done just right.

For example...

Instead of cleaning up my room, an activity I gladly fulfill nearly each morning, I went on a long and laaazy walk over to the local park. And at this park I took my ever so sweet time wandering on random paths or cutting through grassy slots of land. I weaved in between trees and let the cold winter air soak into my consciousness.

It was I, a lone youngster on the swings and two dog walkers that claimed that park.

I loved each and every moment of it.

Because it was in this lazy Saturday morning that I turned on my music and found the most eerie soundtrack I could. I continuously paced the public territory until the lass on the swings had gone and took my rightful place on one of the four available.

And there I lost myself in an ocean of plots and characters.

I haven't done something like that in so long...

Laid claim to a morning just like that.

A lazy Saturday morning indeed.

Migraine Magic!

There is nothing more wickedly powerful at putting a pause on your day than a migraine.

And the more time I take learning about this fiendish devil the more I've come to respect its power over me when it comes a callin'.

This morning when I woke up I was feeling...pretty bad. I had a variety of symptoms that I thought were due to the weather fronts coming in. Recently things have been pretty mild around here. Nothing too cold, no rain.

But I woke up experiencing:

Headache
Shoulder and neck pain
Bright light irritation
Major sinus pressure
Nausea

Needless to say, I wasn't a happy camper. But I took my allergy meds and thought: "Oh. It'll be fine."

And then when I went outside to take Jaku to work...Wham-O!

Wall of fog right down the street!

So my first impression was: "Oh! Okay! So this is totally the weather's fault! I'm just experiencing some sort of allergy problem. No biggie. Meh. It'll go away when my allergy meds kick in..."

But after three hours I was feeling no better and now I was avoiding loud sounds...

So I did some research while updating the older blog posts and found this little jewel:

Sinus Headaches and Migraines

I'd actually been looking up what weather pressures could do to your sinuses and found that nifty image located on The Asthma Center page.

I couldn't believe, after all this time, I thought all this was due in part to my allergies!!

A little more research and I found this handy little "How To"

Even then I was still hesitant to believe I had a migraine... For some stupid reason.

And said to myself "Well, I'm not experiencing all these symptoms in the cute little image on the How To! Fatigue, yeah. Moody? Only a little... Just a tiny bit of neck pain!

But, hey! No diarrhea!

...

I have learned my lesson now. I will not tempt fate again >>;;

The good news is I'm pretty sure I know what my serious headache problem has been for...what...? Over half my life?

WHY DID NO ONE POINT SOMETHING LIKE THIS OUT TO ME BEFORE?!

Okay. Breathing.

I'm good.

And...yeah. So my day was pretty much shut down by a magical migraine of mischief and mayhem. But the great news is that, besides being a little sleepy, I'm feeling pretty spiffy!

So I plan to get some shut-eye tonight and hopefully I'll be all up to par in the morning.

G'night!

Seventh Day!

Well, today marks the seventh and final day of the first blogging week of the new year!

So far I feel I've done an awesome job keeping up with this thing, if not just making posts to edit later.

From tomorrow and onward these posts will have a little more relevance. I just needed some time to kinda...let things fall into place. So...editing this post in a few minutes. For now just posting it before midnight!

It Begins!

I finally, finally believe I have what I want for my blog (almost) prepped and ready to go! I'm just tweaking a few more things, but basically what this blog will be about is...

- Keeping track of my resolutions.
- Keeping track of my everyday goals.
- Once a month update on the progress in my life.
- A place to put up pieces of my writing.
- Checking what I've "leveled up" in. Sorta like the once a month update.
- Photo Friday?

This blog is just generally a run-on from my "The Balancing Owl" blog.

For me, self-actualization is key!

Ta for now~

Goals for the Day

I'd like to think that I'm creating this blog for a purpose other than rambling, which feels like all it is for now.

Perhaps in the next few days something insightful will hit me and it will all come rushing together like a breeze dropping off a high hill.

A sudden burst of energy, enthusiasm and perspective.

So far?

Nothing.

Zip.

Kinda.

Well...

I have an idea actually. And that's what the name of this post is about. "Goals of the Day".

I'd like each post about my day to state what my goal is because I've been trying to live in the moment more and more.

The here and now, as it were.

And this may sound simple, but it isn't.

It involves not thinking too hard about the past and certainly not daydreaming too much about the future.

I'm really, really good at not being in the present moment.

And, thus, if I have "Goals of the Day" I feel that...

Well...fudge. I forgot my train of thought.

I'll come back to this tomorrow!
